Or - coffee or nice lunch in Oakland. Scott's - Jack London Square, Horatio's on San Leandro Marina. Or - one beer, plus the obligatory peanuts- on the deck of Quinn's Lighthouse on Oakland Estuary. Doing just a bit of wine-tasting in Sonoma or Napa. (I do not like to drive or be driven by someone tipsy.)
Nothing special just to find a quite place for a nice conversation about our lives in order to know more about each other and the most important to feel the chemistry

If there is chemistry we will both know it and conversation will extend for quite some time. If there is no chemistry we will both pick up on that and it will be a short lunch. Dinner get acquainted dates are awkward if the chemistry is not right.
First dates are for getting to know each other;finding out about our likes and dislikes. This is the time to learn some of our history and what are the make or break issues.
